HAPPY BIRTHDAY, 庚霖/AARON/ARRON!!!
For once, im totally uncertain of Aaron's true preferred english name because of so much persuasion on different websites that he preferred 'Arron' instead but his company insisted on 'Aaron'.
And, ive finally picked up the courage to post a comment on his blog to wish him a happy birthday. I never used to do that cus i thought he wouldnt have had the time to read it due to his busy schedule and heavy workload.. But since its his birthday, i definitely would want him to know that im actually aware of this special day! haha!
The comment was all ready and meant to be posted at exactly 12am on 20 November 2007. There was a chinese version, and an english translation(for fear he did not understand our chinese as taiwanese write in taiwan chinese). One morning and one night- the time taken to compose my chinese greetings. One long night- the time taken to compose my english greetings. At exactly 12am, I clicked the 'post' button. This window popped out, warning me that I have already crossed their character limit of 1000 characters per comment. I totally went beserk! I was spewing all angry, but not exactly vulgar, words and started deleting each single character so painfully like every single one was treasure. It was, actually, considering they contained my true feelings and all the effort I'd spent. Then I clicked on 'post' again. OH NO. The deleting didnt work! But however heartwrenching it was, I was forced to cancel the whole chinese version away from the comment- I had to make a choice!! I wasnt even able to copy and paste the chinese version into Microsoft Word or wherever so i could post it as another comment cus his blog didnt allow that function! What made the whole situation worse was that, even after that, the english version did not fit into the character limit!!! I was crazy already.. I went 'shit, damn, darn,argh,@#$%^&'- and then came words that dont even exist. I was so bonkers and panicky i could hardly explain. Soon, I resorted to deleting all the spaces between the fullstops at the end of each sentence and the capital letters at the starting of another, and also those in between a comma and a word. You can never imagine how exasperated I was right at the moment! Then before I nearly burst into tears, I decided to split the comment into two(also as advised by Charlene). And I had to re-type the second part and send it as soon as possible. The whole process was like a marathon race, not a second to lose. Sadly, the chinese version had completely went to waste and I didnt manage to post my greetings to him right on the dot. But thats how life works..., so long as Aaron gets to read my thoughtfully written message, im well-prepared to make sacrifices.
Now, at exactly 0201, 13456 people have already rushed to visit his blog, most probably to wish him. Well, not much of a surprise though.. He's such a great guy..!
I hope he blogs today! Hopefully, his absence of posts recently for 2 whole months and counting was because he wanted to save his long-awaited post for his birthday! haha!
I LOVE YOU, AARON!
With Love,
Valencia
